My new bike

Posted in Toys

I got a new bike today. It was on sale at target for $49 from $99. But, when I got up to the checkout line and she scanned the price tag it was only $29!!!! With tax it was $32.58!

Probably the best deal on a bike I’ll ever find. It looks cool and now I can pull the kids with their bike trailer because my mt bike is too fancy for the bike trailer hardware to attach to.

I learned about commuter bikes here and just happen to find this crazy deal at target thanks to Commuter Bike Hero.

My new 22lr rifle

Posted in Fun

gsg 522 After careful consideration on what kind of new 22lr rifle to get I decided on the GSG 522.

I have several reasons why I picked the 522 and one of the top reasons is the look and cool factor. I love the HK MP5 and the GSG 522 is a replica of the famous MP5. So, it looks awesome and not only does it look awesome but it shoots the inexpensive .22lr ammo.

It also shoots great…but pretty much any gun made today shoots great.

Another top reason is that there are lots of cool accessories you can get for it. Considering it has a top rail built in means you can easily put on a scope or red dot sight. The accessories include a 110 round drum magazine that is very cool. It holds 110 rounds of ammo and holds 5 times what the standard 22 round magazine holds.

There are also a couple different stocks for it too. One you can get is the retractable stock ( that looks awesome.

Now if I can just find time to take it out for a shoot then I’ll be happy.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Ultimate Cases

Posted in Tech

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was recently released, and it seems to be the ultimate phone with a remote control built in for TV, eye tracking, hand hovering, OLED, 13 megapixel, quad-core blazing amazing smart phone. If you are looking for a phone, this is clearly the one to have. However, it’s also very expensive if it breaks. The OLED screen is rated one of the brightest and clearest screens you can get for a smartphone, and replacing that would cost about as much as getting a whole new phone. It’s a hassle that no one wants, and the best way to protect your phone is with a soft shell meets hard shell case. These cases will protect the phone from being crushed because of their hard shell, and will absorb and dissapate shock due to their soft shell. It’s also important to make sure the case’s corners are especially resilient since many phones will land on an edge or corner, putting all the force on a button or place where the phone may crack. The GS4 phone can be protected the best by these complex cases, and there are some nice S View Cover and OtterBox choices. For a complete list of the best Samsung Galaxy S4 cases, see these hard shell options.

It’s a fun summer launch for the GS4, and you can have a lot of fun with your sweet phone as long as you keep it working. I’m not sure the stats of the GS5, but at this rate, don’t be surprised if it comes with a projector screen and afterburners!

Fun Kid’s Project

Posted in Fun

We were looking for a fun kid’s project to do for the holidays. There are many craft projects including painting pumpkins, making Christmas cookies, making Christmas tree ornaments, and all types of crafts. However, we have a special day with Santa on Saturday where the kids are going to get to meet Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. We could write a letter, which is traditional and fun, but then remembered a fun project we had done before and could do again- make a newspaper about the presents you want for Christmas.

Fun Kid's ProjectWe know Christmas is not all about presents, but it is a big deal to kids, and making a Christmas newspaper could be a lot of fun. You could get a great newspaper template for kids here, and then just put in the pictures of the toys you want, write about why you want them and how you’ve been good, and then share that newspaper with Santa. Also, you could email it out to family and friends so they would know what is on your kids’ Christmas wish list. It may not be an idea for everyone, but will be a fun project now that the days are shorter and it gets dark so early, and since it will be a fun way to teach our kids while we talk about topics fun to them!

New Star Wars Movie Coming

Posted in Fun

Disney to make Star WarsIt was recently announced that Disney purchased LucasFilm, which means that Disney now owns the rights to Star Wars. They’ve also said that they plan to make a new trilogy, starting with a movie released in 2015. Read about the new Star Wars movie, the sell of LucasFilm and Star Wars, and hear from George Lucas in an interview at

I’ve long been a fan of the Star Wars films. I remember getting the Star Wars toys as a kid, and having a lot of fun playing with them and collecting them. My friends always seemed to have more toys than I did. I also remember watching the movies, getting excited when the first prequel trilogy came out (although I was a bit disappointed in them and like the original 3 the best). I’m now excited about what this means for our kids! In a few years we will have a new Star Wars movie, and another Star Wars craze that my kids will get to experience. That means new Start Wars clothes, toys, bed sheets, posters, and all the things little boys and girls want when they go through their “force phase”. I’m not sure the direction Disney will go, but I know I’m excited to see what happens in the future, with “a long time ago, a galaxy far far away”.

Route 66 Wedding Venue

Posted in Fun

There are a lot of fun places to get married. Destination weddings can be a blast, and weddings in the mountains and on the beach are common places to have a great ceremony. We found another great location for a wedding. It’s located on historic Route 66, and is an old home that has been restored to its former glory. It sits on a hilltop and overlooks a park, and is on the old Route 66 highway that used to be the main road across the United States. Route 66 is the road featured in the first Cars movie by Pixar, and the truck Towmater is actually based off of an old pickup truck located nearby this wedding destination. If you’re looking for a great place to get married, this Joplin area wedding venue may be what you’re looking for.

Choose The Best Dorm/College Shower Caddy

Posted in Home

School is just around the corner, or has already started up for many colleges and universities. As students head off to college, there is a huge list of essentials they need to cover to make sure their transition from home-life to dorm-life goes well. Essentials like bedding, tuition, choice of roommate, meal cards, class schedule, and laptop are all things students often think of. However, an often overlooked subject is the bathroom.

The bathroom in a college dorm is usually a space shared by lots of people. If you live in a dorm with community bathrooms, you will not have any personal space in the bathroom and you won’t be able to leave anything there long term. You’ll be forced to carry your towel, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, and possibly even flip flops if the floor is gross with you every time you visit the bathroom. In order to make this an easy transition, having a great dorm or college shower caddy is necessary.

You should look for a shower caddy that is portable, like a bag or a tote. It’s helpful if these also have holes to help them drain in case you need to store wet bottles of soap or shampoo in them. Caddies that have a handle will make them easier to carry, and the handle may be hung over the shower door, a hook, or some other place to keep it off the floor. Great caddies also have pockets to help organize everything so you can find and grab it quick. Too big of a shower caddy will just take up precious storage space in your room, but too small of a caddy will mean you have to carry things in your hands outside of your caddy, and can make trips more difficult, or you could even drop items on an unclean bathroom floor.

Fortunately, there are lots of great caddy options to choose from. Mesh or cloth won’t rust, will dry quickly, and often offer pockets for organization. They are affordable, and will help you get the most out of your college experience with little cost or hassle.

Cool Air Plant Terrariums

Posted in Home

We ordered some fun air plants and air plant terrariums from modern plants this week. We purchased the tear drop hanging air plant terrarium. We like the air plants because they don’t require any soil!  All you have to do is water them a few times per week by running water over them or submerging the air plants in water for a few minutes.  There are all kinds of air plants to choose from and we picked several including the one below and it’s hanging by our from window now.

I think we’ll get the bigger hanging air plant terrarium soon.  They should make great gifts too, so unique.

I’m using their pictures because they’re much better then I can take :)
